Railston like to write 10 things that we have learnt this month... Some are industry related facts others are quite frankly just a bit of fun for our own amusement! Here is a sneak peak of our favorite 5:
1. Harrods have a new GPS assisted app that helps customers to navigate through London and find the store... very clever!
2 Anatidaephobia is the fear that somewhere in the world, there is a duck watching you... Creepy!
3. Economists have noticed that skirts get shorter when the economy is better and longer when the economy is worse... We have no idea what that means but it's interesting none the less.
4. 12 newborns will be given to the wrong parents daily... How terrible!
5. According to Russian scientist Finklestein humanity will encounter aliens in 2031...Here's hoping!

10 things we've learnt this month: Sneak peak
Some of the facts are funny and quite frankly rather random. Others are informative and highly relevant to the current state of the retail / shopfitting world. Here is a sneak peak of our first three things we learnt this month:
- Everyone hates jargon including us, however, the term e-tail meaning electronic retailing is definitely the watch word this month and we have to admit it’s quite a good one.
- With the apprentice back on telly it made us wonder where the phrase to “get fired” comes from. Apparently many years ago clans who wanted to expel members without killing them would burn their houses down!.. Hence the term "getting fired"... All of a sudden Alan Sugars pointed index finger seems far less threatening!
- Google wasn't even in the top 100 of the worlds most valuable brands until 2005, but have been in the top spot for the last few years until this month when they were thrown of the top spot by no one other then the giants themselves Apple.
You can sign up to our newsletter, which this quarter includes:
