Materials Lab in Great Titchfield StreetRailston has fitted out the Material Lab, a revolutionary new showroom designed by "i am" associates, for specifiers who need professional access to one of the largest ranges of materials in the world. It is a new venture by H&R Johnson, the UK's leading tile manufacturer. Eyecatching water features at front and rear of 10 Great Titchfield Street, London, represent design challenges of the extremes of the arid Arizona desert on the one hand and the humid atmosphere of the wet zone on the other. Displays of vast ranges of materials including ceramics, glass and natural stone are on two floors with a central browsing table designed to represent the bow of an aircraft carrier at which architects, designers and other specifiers may sit, plan, talk to material specialists and consider combining tiles with other forms of surfacing material on display.
